We're converted!
Until now, Casa Jovic didn't include a coffee machine because, well, we have tended to go out for coffee.
Very few visitors commented on the omission over the years, yet it's true that many people do like a nice coffee in the morning, or at any time of day.
But, what coffee would you prefer? Buying a branded machine which only takes one type of coffee pod etc, is ok if you like that coffee. But what if you prefer loose ground filter coffee, or you prefer Nespresso over Dolce Gusto?

We have found the answer, and you can now experience it at Casa Jovic.
The machine is called the Dimobilli D6 and it's manufactured in Porto, in the North or Portugal.
The machine enables the use of ground filter coffee, or capsules, or any pods which are compatible with the size of Nespresso, Dolce Gusto or Delta Q - one of the most popular brands here in Portugal, according to the Interweb :)

Delta Q or Delta: As a local Portuguese brand (part of the Nabeiro Group/Delta Cafés), Delta Q holds a dominant position in the domestic market, often preferred for its intense and robust, traditional Portuguese espresso taste.
Nespresso: Extremely popular in Portugal for its high-quality coffee and wide variety of blends, with strong consumer adoption.
Nescafé Dolce Gusto: Very common for versatility, offering various types of coffee, milky drinks, and hot chocolate.
Key Coffee Capsule Trends in Portugal:
Locally Inspired Taste: Capsules that replicate the traditional Portuguese "Bica" (an intense, full-bodied espresso) are popular, with many brands using blends of African Robustas and South American Arabicas. "Nespresso make a nice pod in this style".
Compatible Capsules: Due to the popularity of Nespresso and Dolce Gusto machines, compatible pods from brands like Sical, Buondi, Torrié, and supermarket brands (like Lidl's Bellarom or Continente) are widely used due to their lower price point. Lavazza and L'Or also make pods compatible with Nespresso and so should work with the machine, although compatibility is not guaranteed.
Major Manufacturers: Delta Cafés and Nestlé (which owns Nespresso, Dolce Gusto, Sical, and Buondi) dominate the Portuguese market.

As if there weren't already a gazillion reasons to visit Casa Jovic, our new addition has got us hooked and just a few days it has become a morning ritual.
