Each year The Algarve plays host to a spectacular sand fiesta. The sand Fiesa is a stunning exhibition of sand sculptures. The theme of the Fiesa changes every year and this year the theme is music. It’s definitely worth a visit and children particularly like wandering around the exhibits. The artists are really talented and it’s amazing how they create the scenes, some of which are 2-3 metres high.  You can find the Fiesa less than a mile off the N125 at Pêra, (right at the Lagoa roundabout and head towards Faro on the N125). The Fiesa is well signposted passed the roundabout where you  can turn off for Armação-de-Pêra. The Fiesa is open all the way through the summer, from 25th May to 25th October.
